Thirty Seconds to Mars, most commonly written as 30 Seconds to Mars is a rock band group from America. This band was formed in 1998 and is rooted in Los Angeles, California. The band members are Jared Leto who is the lead vocalist and plays the bass, keyboard and guitar, Shannon Leto who plays the drum and percussion and Tomo Milicevic who is the lead guitarist and plays the keyboard, strings and bass. 30 Seconds to Mars started as a collaboration between brothers Shannon Leto and Jared Leto. They had been playing music together all through their childhood. The group later grew to a four piece when Solon Bixler and Matt Wachter joined them. By the year 1998, they had began performing gigs at small venues and clubs in America. Tomo later joined the group in 2003 to make it a trio band after Solon and Matt left.
30 Seconds to Mars received its worldwide fame after the release of their second album, A Beautiful Lie in 2005. This album received several certifications all over the world. The third release, This Is War released in 2009, was among the top ten in several national album charts. This release also earned them many music awards. By 2013, 30 Seconds to Mars had released four albums with an enormous commercial success. In May 2013, this band had over 10 million albums sold in the world. The group has won several awards including MTV Video Music awards for Best Rock Video, MTV Video Music Award, Kerrang Award for the best single, MTV Europe Music Awards for the Best Rock among others.
30 Seconds to Mars started concert tours in 2006, having four consecutive tours since then. It also participates in charity events. The band raised around $100,100 for the Haitian relief through an auction after the 2010 Haiti earthquake. This year, the group is on a music tour called Adventures in Wonderland.
