Australian soft rock duo, singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, is back with some new beats! The team has had a series of worldwide hits, including eight Top Ten smashes in the United States, in the early 1980s. However, they didn’t stop on their high note; in 2013 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced that Air Supply will be inducted into their Hall of Fame at the same ceremony as the annual ARIA Awards. The duo is known as one of those rare bands that have been able to sustain a large audience for three decades, while also being able to re-invent their sound. As 2014 marks Air Supply's 39th year together as a band, they decided to give dance music a try. Just this last February 2014, with the help of remix wizards, The Wideboys, Air Supply released their new remixed dance single, "Desert Sea Sky", which landed the #43 spot on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart; now the song remains a constant hit at local dance clubs. Graham Russell, one of the two musicians says of their new single, "This is a whole new genre for us, and when we play it as the encore in our live shows, we can see the look on everyone's faces, like, wow, this is different," says Russell. "But at the same time they're moving and really digging the groove, which is a lovely thing to see. We have all the ballads and melodies in songs we became famous for, but now we're blending those with a whole other vibe. 'Desert Sea Sky' is exciting because it's creating a new pathway for us. Someone I talked to recently compared us to a massive tree with roots deep in the ground – and now there's another branch coming out of the trunk!" This duo shows no signs of slowing down, stay tuned for what direction they will be moving in next!
