Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper TicketsAlice Cooper is a full band that became a singular persona and man that has become a rock legend and remains a very active component of classic rock and hard rock. Yes Alice Cooper tickets continue to be available in the 21st century and are perhaps even more popular now than they were in the group/singers prime in the 1970s and early 1980s.

This musical experiment began as a lip synching act that won a Detroit-area high school’s talent competition. The performers belonged to the cross country team and they found performing on stage to be exhilarating. However, before they could begin performing live shows they had to learn how to actually play instruments.

So, Vincent Furnier became the lead singer and harmonica player, Glen Buxton learned to play lead guitar, Michael Bruce mastered the rhythm guitar and keyboard role, Dennis Dunaway became a bassist, and Neal Smith learned to play the drums. Over the course of the history of the band this lineup has changed, but these were the original five to decide upon the name Alice Cooper and adapt macabre stage theatrics.

This early version of the group, the iteration that released hit albums like Love It to Death, Killer, and School’s Out, were hard rock recordings with a heavy metal slant. Alice Cooper eventually went from the name of the band to becoming the name of the lead singer in 1975.

Cooper then became more and more experimental, at times releasing purely art rock albums. So, the initial solo effort, Welcome to My Nightmare and the follow up, Alice Cooper Goes to Hell, were the only purely metal efforts for some time. Cooper had gone New Wave by the time Flush the Fashion came out in 1980. By the end of the decade Alice Cooper had returned to the metal genre and his fans responded by purchasing both albums and concert tickets.

This second wind reached its height at the end of the 1980s, when Trash became the first Alice Cooper album to reach platinum status in 13 years. Today, in the 21st century, Alice Cooper continues to record and release new work but his tours remain a celebration of the past achievements and the use of heavy eyeliner.
