If Blake Shelton were a tennis player he would be giving Roger Federer a run for his money at the Grand Slams. Shelton has just scored his seventh number one single with “Over”. The string of chart toppers dates back to 2009 when he kicked off the streak with “Hillbilly Bone”. This song comes two albums later, taken from the playlist on Red River Blue. Overall, the album has four number one songs, a multi-platinum single (“Honey Bee”), a platinum hit (“God Gave Me You”), and a gold track (“Drink on It”). Only time will tell if “Over” will get over the hump and earn a little RIAA recognition. In the meantime, fans with Blake Shelton tickets can see the country star perform all this hits live on a tour to end the summer.
This headlining gig will last until September 28, 2012 with one last show in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the WinStar World Casino. Shelton will have one more gig, but this is a collaborative effort with Blake Shelton and friends on a cruise from October 14 to 21, a cruise sponsored by Norwegian Pearl.
Hopefully Shelton will take his new wife on the cruise. He married Miranda Lambert in 2011 and the two have been too busy to spend time with each other. Sure, they sang “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLVI, but every couple needs some alone time. Also, it will give the celebrity rags plenty of chances to catch Miranda in a two piece.
Post cruise, Blake returns to television to act as a judge on NBC’s The Voice. It has not been announced, but many expect Shelton to return to the studio to get an album ready for 2013 since his last album is over a year old. This would mean another tour and another chance to see him perform live. This would certainly drive the sale Blake Shelton tickets since country fans do not like to see their favorite performers spend too much time on the sideline before coming back to town to step into the limelight.
