Blink 182 is a punk pop band that was one of the nineties most successful American punk groups and has continued to have commercial successes since it formed in 1992. To date, it has sold over 27 million records.

This group was originally made up of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and drummer, Scott Raynor. He was however, replaced by new drummer Travis Barker in 1998 during the group's Dude Ranch tour. The group have released several successful studio albums, with their best known releases being the 1994 breakthrough album "Cheshire Cat", "Dude Ranch" in 1997 and "Enema of the State" in 1999.

Their most commercially successful album was "Enema of the State", which reached multi-platinum level and had a string of hits such as "What's My Age Again" and "All the Small Things". Accompanying the singles of this album were some highly popular music videos that showcased the band's sense of humor and fun.

It was this humor, fun and high energy in their local San Diego shows that appealed to small record label Cargo Music. Their first album was released with Cargo Music and saw the singles, "M&Ms" and "Wasting Time" reach an avid audience of teen punks, but it failed to chart and reach a wider audience.

Following the success of "Enema of the State" came their albums "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" in 2001 and "Blink 182" in 2003. In 2005, following growing tensions in the group, they decided to take a hiatus. In 2008 Barker was almost killed in a plane crash and ended up hospitalized with horrific burns. Following this the three members reconciled and reformed.

In 2009, the group appeared on stage together at the Grammy Awards and announced that they were back. Blink 182 was a 90's-best punk rock group. Their songs connect so strongly with teenagers the world over as they deal with growing up along with the odd bit of toilet humor.
