The NBA team to win the most NBA championships since the league began in 1950 is the Boston Celtics. This great team has lost only four championship games out of the 21 times they have made it there. The Celtics are in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, where they play at the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts.

Glen "Doc" Rivers is the head coach of the Celtics. He joined the team in 2004 and has been able to work wonders with this team. In his first season, he wasted no time messing around and lead the team to be the best in the Atlantic Division. Then, after only three years, he coached them to their 17th NBA championship.

As you already know, the Celtics won the Atlantic Division with 56 wins and only 26 loses in the 2010-11 season. This gave them the third playoff seed in the Eastern Conference, which put them up against the New York Knicks in the First Round. The Celtics swept the Knicks and went on to challenge the Miami Heat, but they were unable to be victorious and in the process, they almost got swept. Still, going to the Conference Semi Finals is commendable.

The home of the Celtics is the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts. It is a fairly large arena with a seating capacity of 18,624 people and has been opened since 1995. In 2006, the arena underwent renovations that updated its entertainment system from see through shot clocks to new advertising panels.

The Celtics have had an impressive 21 appearances in the NBA championship, second to the Los Angeles Lakers, but in the number of actual championships won, the Celtics are first in the league with 17 championships. Their championship legacy started in 1957 and their latest win was in 2008.

Any fan of the Celtics is proud to know that their team has been great throughout the ages and has never been in any sort of slump for long. The Celtics will always be a contender in any game they play, whether it be in the regular season, the playoffs, or the championship.
