The Boston Red Sox are a Major League Baseball Team playing in the American League's Eastern Division. There home ground is Fenway Park located in Boston, Massachusetts, and this ground has been home to some of the biggest stars the sport has ever seen. This team is one of the most famous teams in baseball due to its long standing rivalry with the Yankees and heartbreaking wait for modern success.

This club is a very popular team in Major League Baseball, and one only has to look at the amount of fans that travel to away games to see how loved they are. Not only that, their home ground of Fenway Park has been sold out for every single game since May 2003, and although it is far from having the biggest attendance it is still an astonishing accomplishment.

The team started their history in a positive manner winning the World Series Title in the first season since the modern league era began in 1903. During the following two decades they would win the World Series four more times making them one of the most successful teams of the generation. During this period the world was also introduced to baseball superstar Babe Ruth.

Babe Ruth played for this Boston side from 1914 to 1919 and picked up three World Series titles with the Red Sox. He was then sold to the New York Yankees in what was considered a terrible deal for Boston which proved to be the case. It is believed that this was a catalyst that helped trigger the great rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox.

From the 1920's onwards after the sale of many top players, the team could only record four pennant victories in the following 83 years, and finally claimed another series title in 2004. Even during this barren run the team's fame and popularity never stopped growing. They followed up on the 2004 success with another World Series in 2007.
