Boz Scaggs guitarist extraordinaire, singer, songwriter and vocalist who is also sometime lead singer with the Steve Miller Band has had several solo Top 20 singles in the US in the 1970s. Including the hits Lowdown and Lido Shuffle from the critically acclaimed Silk Degrees, which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. After a long hiatus he returned to music and released his next LP, Other Roads in 1988 and then joined Donald Fagen, Phoebe Snow, Michael McDonald from 1989 to 1992 in The New York Rock and Soul Revue. Releasing his second album in fourteen years in 1994 entitled Some Change the preceding release Other Roads yielded the hit Heart of Mine and topped the chart at #47. Boz has steadily been touring and releasing albums every couple years since that project with his last release being Memphis in 2013 topping the chart at #17. Memphis included some of Boz’s favorite compositions he chose to cover from various artists. His touring has earned him new fans internationally as he receives great reception wherever he goes. People fall in love with his soft bluesy sounds, the sweet rock and fast jazz rock that has people up and out of their seats full of excitement and his powerful shows are a testament to his love of music. He loves to sing for other bands as it keeps him fresh and able to adapt his skills to other musicians. He has performed with the band Wigs and Mother Earth, however he says, he prefers to be a solo performer.
