The British metalcore band from Sheffield, Yorkshire currently consists of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, lead guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish. Since their inception in 2003 their music has been described as ranging from deathcore to later being a more eclectic metalcore sound. With their most recent single releases “Drown” and “Don’t Look Down” showing a significantly less aggressive rock music style sounding more like progressive rock or post-rock sounds. Bring Me the Horizon released their debut album “Count Your Blessings” in 2006 it was met with much criticism from the public as well as critical disdain. Their next album broke away from the extreme controversial sound with their 2008 release of “Suicide Season”. This album proved to be very creative and proved to be the turning point in their commercial success. Gaining international fame with their third album “There is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There is a Heaven, Let’s Keep It a Secret” in 2010, this album incorporated elements from a wide range of genres including classical, electronica and pop. Achieving Gold certification for their major label debut “Sempiternal” which has been to date their most successful album. In addition to their four albums the band has released two extended plays and only recently announced the release date for their fifth studio album “That’s the Spirit” release date expected to be in September of 2015.
