The major hurdle is, first and foremost, the regular season schedule. With 48 games in 100 days there are few chances to rest and few chances for a team to fight a negative momentum. This team stuck in no man’s land, between contention and exile at the bottom of the standings. If the number of young forwards continues to develop then the front office can begin making the slight adjustments to the roster to put the hockey team in position to compete with the Bruins for the division title and with the rest of the postseason contenders for the Cup.
