City and Colour is the recording alias for Canadian singer-songwriter Dallas Green, the guitarist, and vocalist of post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. Known for his creative work on stage and for the wide variety of Canadian indie rock musicians who accompany Green as he takes his melodic acoustic folk music on tour or as he spends time recording playing with artists such as Daniel Romano and Spencer Burton of Attack in Black. Green has been writing music for the majority of his life and his debut album contained music that he began writing as a sixteen year old kid and did not finish until 2005 when he released “Sometimes” to a very good reception. Green said the feeling he got when thinking of “putting the album out under the name Dallas Green” was queasy. Always thinking outside the box the name of the band was taken from his own name: Dallas, a city, and Green, a colour. His music is dynamically gentle and the listener is taken through a roller coaster of emotions as a lot of the music he creates is sad music. Green indicated that his view is that the “best music for him is sad music”. Green loves creating music his listeners can use to escape their rough day and he uses a lot of real life examples and experiences of his own to write the music for City and Colour. His second full-length album, “Bring Me Your Love” features a variety of instrument’s not used on Green’s previous recordings. His 2010 tour was in support of his third studio album, “Little Hell”. City and Colour released their fourth album in the summer of 2013 titled, “The Hurry and the Harm” and fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the new album entitled “If I Should Go Before You” set to be released October 2015, exclusively on Beats 1 station on Apple Radio on July 15, 2015 hosted by Zane Lowe.
