The Columbus Blue Jackets are enjoying a season in which the young parts are spending time gelling on the ice. This may not mean Columbus Blue Jackets tickets are going to be available for many wins at Nationwide Arena, but they will continue to be available to see if the players on the roster now are going to be there in the near future.

Those players include quite a few players on the blue line and a host of centers. The future defensemen include Jack Johnson and James Wisniewski. Johnson and Wisniewski are playing pretty well, but it is veteran Fedor Tyutin who is shining. Tyutin is overachieving, spreading the puck almost effortlessly. Ultimately, most people expect Tyutin to cool down. Then hopefully Johnson and Wisniewski should take over and become a future premier blue line pair. Johnson had a slow start and a bad rating, but he is spending an incredible amount of time on the ice and is beginning to pick up enough assists to turn his plus-minus from bad to good. Wisniewski is a little older and has not played a full season yet. Still, when he is playing he is helping to create offense from the back zone.

Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Johansen, Derick Brassard, and Mark Letestu are, once again, the future. At least, some of them will be a part of the coming success. Dubinsky has been a bit banged up and has been spending an incredible amount of time in the penalty box. Johansen has been sent down to the minors, but he is going to make it back up at some time during the 2013 NHL season schedule. Brassard has pulled some nasty moves this season, but he has also been a scoring machine when not getting benched. Finally there is Letestu, a late bloomer who is one of the few players with a positive rating.

All this means an awful lot of pressure is being put on goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, another young man whose supposed to be a part of most successful Blue Jacket squads. He has been performing quite well considering and is earning a spot in the hearts of the fans.
