Dane Cook is arguably one of the most hilarious men in show business. With his naughty yet lovable jokes and handsome appearance, he's got both the men and women of the crowd rolling with laughter, unable to move after the show is over due to sore ribs. But how did he get started?
Dane started from humble beginnings, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He went to a Roman-Catholic church and school where he was bullied for his whole childhood, which he says made him a better comedian. Then in 1994 he decided he was ready to make it big and Mr. Cook moved to New York with the big dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. Two years later he moved to Los Angeles and is still there, causing people at his shows to leave in stitches every time.
In 2003, Dane released his first comedy set especially for DVD called Harmful if Swallowed. It had rave reviews and was one of the top comedy DVDs of our generation. He went to make more DVDs of his stand up and eventually found himself hosting Saturday Night Live; this is something he had always dreamed of doing. Dane Cook is even a hilarious actor, appearing in movies such as Dan in Real Life, Good Luck Chuck, Employee of the Month, Mr. Brooks, and My Best Friend's Girl.
He is known for playing the jerk or bad boy on TV and the movies and even in some of his stand-up, but in real life Cook is the sweetest, most caring, and most funny guy you could ever hope to see perform. His jokes are relevant and relatable to today's adults and he can make us laugh at the drop of a hat. If you get the chance to see a Dane Cook performance, it would truly be a once in a lifetime opportunity that shouldn't be passed up!
