Denver Nuggets

With a new coach in Mike Malone and a young core of players, it wasn’t a big surprise to see the Denver Nuggets finish last season as the 11th team in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record. After stashing draft picks, the Nuggets were able to score three top-20 guys; Jamal Murray (Pick 7), Juan Hernangomez (Pick 15) and Malik Beasley (Pick 19). Aside from their talented and promising draft picks, Denver’s roster will remain mostly the same, hoping that their young core has matured and developed, and that this season will bring less injuries. New guys Murray and Beasley will man the backcourt alongside guard Emmanuel Mudiay, while the other veterans Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Jameer Nelson

and Kenneth Faried should be improved and ready to contribute this season. We can’t forget about international big men Jusef Nurfic and Nikola Jokic, both young, extremely talented and add to this exciting roster.

The Northwest division is a tough one, but the Nuggets should see some movement in their standings this season. Fans should be sure to secure their Denver Nuggets tickets and come out to Pepsi Center to support this driven and gifted group of players all season long.

Denver Nuggets History

The Denver Nuggets are the professional basketball team that plays out of Denver Colorado.  Their home games are played at the Pepsi Center which is shared with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL.  Originally the team was founded as the Denver Larks in 1967, changed their name to Rockets before their first season and then in anticipation of the ABA-NBA merger the team name was changed to the Nuggets and remains as such today.

Since their inception into the NBA the team has had their fair share of ups and downs with nine consecutive playoff making seasons in the 1980’s.  Fans are still patiently waiting for them to make their comeback season and take the team back into the finals for another championship round.  Stan Kroenke owns the team his General Manager is Tim Connelly and the Nuggets hired Indiana Pacers’ associate head coach, former NBA player Brian Shaw to be their head coach.

This is an exciting season for the Nuggets as they have signed lots of new talent such as, Guard-forward Andre Iguodala was sent to the Golden State Warriors in a sign-and-trade in which they acquired guard Randy Foye from the Utah Jazz for this 2014 season.  The Nuggets also signed center-forward J.J. Hickson, previously with the Portland Trail Blazers.  Guard Nate Robison from the Bulls was also signed and the 5’9 guard said he is very excited to get an opportunity like this in his career.

Come out and enjoy home and away games for all the Denver Nuggets basketball games.  The Pepsi Center offers a unique multi-purpose sporting arena experience unique to Denver, Colorado.
