The English rock band that has been playing together without one break-up since 1978. There have been multiple lineup changes with the current band mates including founding members, keyboardist Nick Rhodes and bassist John Taylor who along with drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Andy Taylor are the members of Duran Duran. During the early ‘80s they were a leading band in the MTV-driven “Second British Invasion” of the United States. During their career Duran Duran has had 14 Top Ten Singles in the UK Singles Chart and 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and according to Sunday Mercury they have sold more than 120 million records worldwide. Working hard over their thirty year career to amass a number of awards: two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards that include the Outstanding Contribution to Music, and an MTV Video Music Award for Lifetime Achievement and they were also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One of the first boundary pushing bands to incorporate partial nudity in their music videos they used professional directors that were using 35 mm film movie cameras which gave the videos a polished look. Duran Duran was also one of the first bands to provide video screens above the stage to bring better visuals to the audience in the rear seating. Duran Duran’s new album titled “Paper Gods” is set to be released in the fall of 2015 the first single is called “Pressure Off” its produced by Rodgers and Ronson and will be released on Warner Bros.
