Elephant Revival is a folk music group from Nederland, CO the band also plays rock, bluegrass, reggae, hip hop and psychedelic country. They’re a very unique sound with a broad fan base of people who enjoy their multi-instrumental music that incorporates elements of Scottish/Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk pieces, traditional ballads and all members contribute vocals and to the songwriting. Their style of music is often referred to as “transcendental folk” and they use ‘40/’50’s style Jazz standards with an occasional hip hop beat. Seeing this band or just hearing them play is a moving experience. Between them individually and collectively they have performed with or opened for bands including: Dispatch, Bela Fleck, John Paul Jones, Devotchka, Michael Franti, Little Feat, Yonder Mountain String Band and many more. The band consists of members Bonnie Paine, Sage Cook, Dango Rose, Daniel Rodriguez and Bridget Law. Elephant Revival has released four studio albums, Elephant Revival in 2003, Break In The Clouds (2010), It’s Alive (EP) (2012), These Changing Skies (2013). Starting out as Elephant Revival Concept in 2006 at their very first show, Concept was soon dropped from their name long before Ruff Shod Records signed them to their label in 2010. Their music is refreshing and offers something different than the monotony that is commercial radio and the experience they bring to the community as a whole with their all-around good vibes and the fact that they draw on so many different styles makes their music hard to define but anyone who has heard it will testify to what a marvelous experience they are.
