Flo Rida is an American rapper who grew up in poverty outside Miami and has become one of the most popular performers as rap and dance have combined in the mainstream. His songs “Low” and “Good Feeling” are sure to be heard at clubs across the country and “Wild Ones” and Whistle” can be heard thumping in cars on the road on the way to and from work. Flo Rida tickets are as big of a deal as are his many RIAA-certified hits.
These hits have more than made up for the failings of his albums. Mail on Sunday, his debut, is by far his best-selling, but it has yet to even go gold. Instead, the song “Low” is six-times platinum and “In the Ayer” is relatively unknown because it only went double-platinum. The same is true for R.O.O.T.S, with “Right Round” and “Sugar” individual platinum stand outs.
Essentially, Flo Rida is a rapper for the 21st century. He released songs to be downloaded on iTunes and makes millions. He combines rap with elements of dance for raves and elements of light-hearted pop for radio play. He is a star redefining both his genre and what it means to be a star in today’s confusing world of music.
He pays homage to his childhood and his home state by adopting the name Flo Rida and rhyming about partying instead of drive-bys and crack deals. He grew up Tramar Dillard, a boy singing in the gospel choir and encouraged to put his energy to use trying to cultivate a sound for rap and popular consumption. He gave college a try, but would return to music because it was his one true interest.
Now Flo Rida concert tickets are taking him around the world, with entire music videos comprised of footage from his journeys. They also bring a set list more than 20-strong to the stage each and every night, whether he is headlining or he is opening for an artist like Cee Lo Green.
