George Ezra Barnett, aka George Ezra hit it big with his single “Budapest” which cracked the top 10 on a global scale. The English singer-songwriter grew up in Hertford, England and moved to Bristol in 2011 to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. Ezra’s voice has a bluesy bass-baritone sound and cites his blues influences as Howlin’ Wolf and Lead Belly. He was also heavily influenced by Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan on the singer-songwriter side of his work. At age 21, he currently has one LP album entitled “Wanted on Voyage” which he released in England in 2014 and the United States earlier this year. The album was named after the sticker on Paddington’s suitcase illustrated on the books he read as a child. "I finally found out that it was from when people traveled by boat, and your luggage would go in the cargo, and then for anything you wanted on your person, you would have a 'Wanted on Voyage' sticker on it. And maybe because I wrote most of the album while I traveled, I liked the idea of people wanting my album on their journey."
Ezra will be heading to Europe in June, returning to the United States at the end of July with tour dates from Camden, New Jersey to Portland, Oregon. Make sure to grab your George Ezra tickets and catch this talented artist on one of his 11 American tour stops this summer.
