Originally formed in Philadelphia, in 1946, as the Philadelphia Warriors, the Warriors traveled to California and settled in Oakland, where they became the Golden State Warriors in 1971. The Warriors are in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference, where they play at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

The commander of these warriors is Mark Jackson. He was hired to be the Warriors' head coach in June 2011. The 2011-12 season will be his first time coaching, let alone head coaching, in the NBA.

The Warriors were able to attain only 36 wins with 46 losses, landing them at third place in the Pacific Division and twelfth place in the Western Conference with no shot at the playoffs.

The home of the Warriors is the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The arena was opened in 1966 with a seating capacity of 15,025 people. Then in 1997, the outdated arena was renovated, which brought the seating capacity up to a whopping 19,596 people. The Golden State Warriors have played every single home game at the Oracle Arena, except for the season the arena was being renovated, where they played at the San Jose Arena. The Oracle Arena also holds a few records in the NBA by being the oldest arena that is still used by the NBA and, with its 1997 renovations, having the largest seating capacity in the NBA.

The Warriors have appeared in the NBA championship four times and have won three times. They first appeared in the first NBA championship in 1956, where they lost in Game Five to the Fort Wayne Pistons. After their loss, they came back in 1964, 1967, and 1975 to make sure that the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy would be theirs.

In the most recent NBA season, the Warriors have lost the drive they once had when they won their championships. Hopefully, their new head coach will revive that drive and get them back on the path to victory.
