The Tennessee Titans, otherwise known as the Houston Oilers or the Tennessee Oilers, were formed in 1960. They started off by playing in the American Football League until they switched to the NFL in 1970. In 1999, the Titans won their first and only Super Bowl championship as a wild card qualifier. The Titans are in the South Division of the American Football Conference, where they play at the LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee.

The newest head coach of the Titans is Mike Munchak, who became the head coach in 2011. Coach Munchak is unique in that he has been with the same team his whole coaching career, its just that the team has changed names over the years. The 2011 season will be his first season as a head coach. In the 2010 season, the Titans had an average record with six wins and ten loses, getting dead last in their division.

The Titans home is the LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The stadium was opened in 1999 and has a seating capacity of 68,798 people. A type of grass called Bermuda Sod, is the playing surface at the Titans' stadium. The poor quality of the grass has been known to cause horrendous field conditions towards the end of the season.

A new head coach means a fresh start for the Titans. Their average record last season needs to be forgotten, so that everyone focuses on what can happen if the players and the coaches click to form a great team.
