Keith Urban country music singer was born in the town of Whangarei, New Zealand on Oct. 26th, 1967. He's one of the world's most popular singers of this type of music, especially in Australia and America. The 43-year-old also plays several musical instruments and is an accomplished songwriter.

He released his self-titled debut CD in Australia in 1991 where it spawned four hit singles. He moved to the USA a year later and worked as a session guitarist. He then formed a band called The Ranch and recorded an album with them for Capitol Records which contained two singles that placed on Billboard's country charts.

A solo CD was released in America in 1999 and went platinum there. It also contained his first number one single in the USA called "But for the Grace of God". His second American album was called "Golden Road" and was released in 2002, containing another top single called "Somebody Like You". Urban also won a Grammy Award for the song "You'll Think of Me", which was on the album.

In 2004 he released a collection of songs entitled "Be Here" and it contained three more hit singles. This was his best-selling CD and was certified multi-platinum. It was followed up in 2006 with an album named "Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing". He also won his second Grammy Award for a song named "Stupid Boy".

In 2007, he released a greatest hits collection and re-released it the next year with an extra song called "You Look Good in My Shirt". The CD "Defying Gravity" came out in 2009 and another called "Get Closer" was released in 2010. So far, the singer's studio album output has reached nine, with one of them being released in Great Britain only. Keith Urban country music singer has had over 15 songs chart in America, with 10 of them reaching number one.
