Joining Clarkson at the Pepsi Center August 6th at 7:00 P.M. will be A cappella group Pentontix, and folk singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson will comprise the guest appearances supporting headliner Kelly Clarkson. The Pepsi Center in Denver, CO is a multi-Use Facility that is used as the home arena by the NBA’s Denver Nuggets basketball team, the NLL Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse club, and NHL’s Colorado Avalanche ice hockey franchise. Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol and was established as “The Original American Idol” her debut single, “A Moment Like This” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in history. Kelly Brianne Clarkson came to fame from the inaugural season of American Idol. This singer, songwriter and actress is most widely know for her first hit single "A Moment Like This". For Clarkson, growing up in small town Burleson Texas with divorced parents was tougher than it seemed, and music became her refuge. In seventh grade a teacher over heard Clarkson singing in the hallway and told her to try out for the school choir, which then led to musicals and a discovering of an amazing talent. After graduating high school Clarkson was offered full ride scholarships to The University of Texas Austin, University of North Texas, and Berklee, but declined all offers, in pursuit of her musical career and claimed "you're never to old to go to college".
Clarkson moved to the big Los Angeles in pursuits of her dreams. She worked as a waitress and got a couple gigs, being and extra on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Dharma & Greg. Clarkson tried and tried to get record deals but had no such luck. So after four months of Los Angeles Clarkson moved back to Texas, where she auditioned for American Idol in 2002 and won. She broke records with the Billboard Hot 100 and continues her career in acting and singing.
