Born on March 1, 1987, music has been a part of her life since she has been small. Her mother Pebe is a songwriter, and is the author of the song, "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You". This has been recorded by Dolly Parton and Joe Sun.

Although born in Los Angeles, the family moved to Nashville in 1991 so Pebe could have more opportunities with song writing. She followed her mother from one recording studio to another and developed a deep interest in music, inspired by stars like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.

At the tender age of seventeen, she left high school to pursue a career in music. Soon, she moved back to Los Angeles and worked with producer Dr. Luke. He liked her voice and the producer saw good things for her in the future.

However, she still had to work hard, and struggled for a while. She worked singing backups and took any music job that she could find. Finally her big break came when she appeared in Flo Rida's hit song "Right Round". However, the young star was not paid nor credited in the video.

In 2009 Kesha's hit song "Tik Tok" reached number one in several countries. Her first album was called "Animal" and was released in 2010. In this album are several of her hit singles.
