Kid Rock is rapper…or a rock star…or a country star…or something. He apparently has decided to take a look back with this latest effort, releasing an album full of songs clearly defined as rock and sometimes finding the kind of soul that first helped rock and roll break out more than half a century ago. The album, Rebel Soul, has a new tour scheduled for 2013, making these the first Kid Rock tickets in nearly a year.

This career is quite an achievement for the performer. Kid Rock grew up Robert Ritchie in an affluent suburb of Detroit. Despite being a kid in the good part of town, the bad part of town and the music it championed drew his attention. His early efforts as a rapper and DJ led to a few flirtations from record companies, but those opportunities would yield nothing but three independently released albums to no fanfare. That would all change with Devil Without a Cause. The album went 11-times platinum thanks to the popularity of “Bawitdaba” and “Cowboy”. The single “Only God Knows Why” would prove the highest charting single, though the first two are the most requested during his many live performances.

If he had only had this one hit album, Kid Rock would be set. But, he continued his success with Cocky, Kid Rock, and Rock N Roll Jesus. These albums found a man moving away from rap-rock and much closer to pure rock, specifically Southern rock. This sound, combined with patriotic songs celebrating the efforts of the troops, has made him one of the most popular artists of the 21^st century. He has been on tour nearly constantly since. Those crowds have been requesting “Picture” during the lighter moments, “All Summer Long” to kick things up a notch, and “American Bad *ss”. Kid Rock concert tickets will feature all these and more as he takes on the Rebel Soul Tour with Buckcherry and Hellbound Glory to open throughout the tour schedule.
