Linkin Park is an intriguing band that has come a very long way to end up where they began. Only recently have they fully accepted the categorizing as a nu metal band. For those unaware of what exactly this musical designation means, they have two choices. First they can begin to try and fathom the fusion metal genre which incorporates elements from hip hop, electronic, funk, industrial, and funk. Or second, they can simply take sampling from the 2000 debut and diamond album Hybrid Theory and the 2012 album Living Things. Alas, fans are glad that it took just over a decade and five number one albums for the group to embrace its beginnings and gladly play what that base wanted to hear when they purchased Linkin Park tickets online or at the box office.
The current tour are taking the sextet (lead singer and rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda, singer Chester Bennington, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, drummer Rob Bourdon, and DJ and keyboardist John Hahn) throughout the world. They already spent the summer with Incubus as brand ambassadors for Honda on the Honda Civic Tour and are now ready to perform ass the lone headliner pimping a glorious return to their musical roots.
Living Things proved a welcome addition to the group’s discography immediately when the first single from the album, “Burn It Down”, reached number one on the Billboard Alternative, Mainstream rock, and Rock recordings charts. It has since gone gold in several European nations. Why have this song and this album enjoyed so much more fan praise than A Thousand Suns, the previous recording? Because when people listen to these new tracks they can still hear something akin to “One Step Closer” and “In the End”.
Thus, the clamoring of metal fans desperately in search of Linkin Park tickets has grown much louder in 2012. They are exploring every single option, especially as the number of schedule dates dwindle. They want to be part of the LP’s return to greatness and the men who make up Linkin Park will be glad to have them.
