The Miami Dolphins Football Team

Formed in 1966, the Miami Dolphins swam in the American Football League, until they jumped into the NFL in 1970. During their time in the NFL, they have been able to win two Super Bowl championships. One in 1972 and the other one in 1973. The Dolphins are in the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference, where they play at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Since 2008, the head coach of the Dolphins has been Tony Sparano. The Dolphins were his first team to head coach in the NFL. Despite his lack of experience, he has been able to prove himself worthy to the team and its fans. In his first season, the Dolphins were 1st in the AFC East with 11 wins and 5 loses, but they were unable to get into the playoffs when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in a wild card game. The 2009 and 2010 seasons both had 7 wins and 9 loses, putting the Dolphins at 3rd in the AFC East.

The home of the Dolphins is the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It was opened in 1987 with a grass playing surface and is one of the three stadiums left that house a NFL and MLB team. Currently, the seating capacity of the stadium is 75,192 people.

There is no trend in the last few Dolphins' seasons, so what will be the story in the 2011-12 season? The beauty of football and any sports game is that the previous season does not matter because it is the present season the team is playing in.
