The formation of the Milwaukee Bucks was in 1968 and their first years in the NBA were a struggle. Luckily, the Bucks were able to build up their team over time and were able to win a NBA championship. The Bucks are in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference, where they play at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Scott Skiles has been the head coach of the Bucks since 2008. His NBA head coaching career began with the Phoenix Suns in 1999. Then in 2003, the moved to head coach the Chicago Bulls. It wasn't until 2008, when he would start head coaching the Bucks. In his first three years with the Bucks, he was able to get them to the playoffs each year.
The 2010-11 season did not go so well for Skiles and his Bucks. They were only able to achieve 35 wins with an ugly 47 loses. These events settled them at third place in the Central Conference, but were ninth in the Eastern Conference, just missing the playoffs.
The home of the Bucks is the Bradley Center, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The arena was opened in 1988, which makes it one of the oldest arenas in the NBA. Unfortunately, the negative side of being one of the oldest arenas, without any renovations, is that everything is outdated or falling apart, which does not make for a pleasant experience for the fans. The current seating capacity of the arena is 18,717 people.
It only took the Bucks three years to get to their first NBA championship game, which they were able to win against the Baltimore Bullets by a sweep in 1971. They were later back in the championship in 1974, but they lost to the Boston Celtics in an energizing Game Seven.
No expected the Bucks to have their first championship after three years since joining the NBA. It seems like that kind of competitive attitude is starting to return to the Bucks after it has been lost for so many years and when it fully arrives, their fans will be excited to watch them play.
