Pacioretty still has to learn how to create those opportunities on his own, but he is a strong skater who can handle the puck and is the kind of left wing who does not play second-fiddle in the goals column to the right wing.

This first line will be dramatically better if defenseman Andrew Markov can stay healthy. He can still move the puck across zones and kick start an attack with a well-placed outlet pass. He and young P.K. Subban are the pivotal players on the blue line. They can help keep the puck out of the zone and will give Carey Price a break in goal.

The netminder is poised for a great season if the added toughness added in the offseason continues to deliver. Price is a very skilled goalie, so there is always a chance to play in the postseason. But, before Habs fans begin counting on Canadien tickets for the Stanley Cup playoffs the hockey team needs to make a big move up the standings in the Northeast Division.
