Have you ever seen a catfish thrown onto the ice? If not, you haven't been to a Nashville Predators' game. The Predators were formed in 1997 and are in the Central Division of the Western Conference, where they play at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The leader of the pack, for the Predators, is Barry Trotz, who is the team's first and only head coach. He has coached 902 games and won 411 games, which puts him at sixth of all time coaches with a single franchise. Before coaching for the Predators, he coached the Washington Capitals in the American Hockey League for five seasons. He has also been an assistant head coach for the Canadian team that won the IIHF World Championships.

The 2010-11 season yielded a great season for the Predators. With 44 wins and only 27 loses, they were able to get second in the Central Division and clinch a playoff spot. With a fifth seed, the Predators went up against the Anaheim Ducks. They were able to beat the Ducks in Game Seven and advance to the Western Conference Semifinals, which was a major milestone for the franchise. Then, they went up against the first seeded Vancouver Canucks, where the series extended to six games, but the Predators were defeated.

The home of the Predators is the Bridgestone Arena, which was opened in 1996. It is able to hold 17,298 people and has numerous nominations for the Pollstar Concert Industry Venue of the Year Award. In 2007, the arena went through major renovations that included changes to public areas, concession stands, infrastructure, and replacing the original scoreboard with a new one, nicknamed, "Megatron."

Although the Predators have had stellar regular seasons and have made it to the playoffs numerous times, they have never brought home a Stanley Cup or have even made it to the finals. Yet, they have not given up and still circling that elusive Stanley Cup, so that they could finally bring it home for the first time.
