American indie folk singer-songwriter from Seattle, Washington Noah Gundersen’s music is consistently impressive and defies genre. Gunderson produced his first album, Brand New World, in 2009 and also recorded an EP, Saints & Liars, around the same time. His 2014 album, Ledges, was self-produced Noah has spent years honing his sound into the perfect folksy sound. The songs of his recently released EP “Family” shines light into a darkness that combines the haunting shadows of Tom Waits with the lyrical angst of Neil Young. “The song is about who I want to be, while realizing who I am. I want to be less like my Father and more like my Dad. Family comes in many forms, It lives with us, for better and for worse. It shapes us. That’s what this album is about.” Gundersen’s younger years were very sheltered and music was abundant but limited, Larry Norman, Keith Green, and Bob Dylan’s Christian album “Slow Train Coming” or “Saved” were the first artists he remembers being drawn to. Noah along with his violin playing sister, Abby, drummer Ivan Gunderson and bassist Travis Ehrenstrom make up the current line-up of their band, The Courage, a band that had no trouble making a name for themselves on the discerning Seattle scene. During the present time of social media giving everyone a self-important air, Noah Gundersen has become the antithesis of our time! His show is energetic, fun and very entertaining, one for everyone to come out and enjoy.
