When a team is able to attract over 18,000 fans to every home game since 2005, it's a sign of a great team. Formed in 1990, the Ottawa Senators have been able to get into the last 12 of 14 playoffs. The Senators are in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference, where they play at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario.

Paul MacLean is stepping into the head coach's spotlight for the first with a NHL team. He was recently picked up by the Senators in 2011. Although he has not had an NHL head coaching job, he has been the assistant head coach to Mike Babcock, of the Detroit Red Wings, and Bob Murray, of the Anaheim Ducks, two great coaches and teams.

The Senators' 2010-11 season consisted of 32 wins and 40 loses, which resulted in them being in last place in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference. They were unable to make it to the playoffs.

The home of the Senators is at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario. It was originally opened in 1996 and has the capacity to hold 20,500 people. With a reputation of being a well designed arena, its location has caused some complaints. Unfortunately, it is difficult to get to because the Queensway highway has heavy traffic around game times. Another issue revolves around the arena's isolation from restaurants and bars. Can't party without a place to go.

The Stanley Cup was in the Senators' grasp in 2007, but was lost to the Anaheim Ducks. This has been their only Stanley Cup appearance.

With a recent appearance in the Stanley Cup, it is possible for the Senators to be a great team again. They just have to wait till the new coach and the players come together to form a fantastic team.
