The Philadelphia Eagles Many Ventures

The Philadelphia Eagles got their name from an insignia on the National Recovery Act that was drawn up by Franklin D Roosevelt. They joined the NFL in 1933, replacing the Frankford Yellow Jackets. The Eagles joined the NFL as a franchise. Their first ten years were a challenge as they lost many games.

There have been many moves for this team. Some of the fields and stadiums that they played in were; the Municipal Stadium, Shibe Park, Franklin Field, Baker Bowl and Veterans Stadium to name a few. The team has also fallen on financial hardship over the years and has switched hands several times.

The primary colors of the team have been green, silver and white. The logo has also changed several times, but never without the customary mascot, the Eagle somewhere within the design. The outfit has changed as well, in both color and design over the years.

There has been a rivalry that is long standing against the New York Giants. It dates back to 1933 and is still ongoing to this very day. This franchise is very community oriented, hosting several charity events throughout the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been in the very valuable in their contributions towards Leukemia within the football club. The team has raised more than ten million dollars towards research and support for families of those suffering from the disease. They have since have turned it into a non-profit organization outside of the club, in which they donate free office space, staff support as well as other valuable resources.

Other ventures have included a literacy program and eye examinations. Keeping in tune with giving back to the community and caring about the Earth, they announced in 2010, that they were going to switch to solar power. They also hold a public practice to start off their season in Lincoln Financial Field in which many fans partake in.
