The Pittsburgh Penguins could have never picked a better mascot for their team and have been able to support the fact that Penguins are the best players when on the ice. The Penguins were formed in 1967 and are in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. They currently play at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The head coach of the Penguins is Dan Bylsma, who has been able to take the Penguins to the next level in the NHL. Originally, he was the head coach for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, until he was promoted to head coach of the Penguins in 2009. He was able to lead the team to its third Stanley Cup during his first year and was able to get the Penguins to the 40 win mark in the second fastest time in the NHL.

The 2010-11 season brought the Penguins 49 wins and only 25 loses. This got them second in the Atlantic Division and was enough to let them clinch the forth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They lost to the Tampa Bay Lighting by one goal in Game Seven.

The new home of the Penguins was just recently opened in 2010. It has the ability to hold 18,087 people and is the first arena to have the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The Penguins have appeared in the Stanley Cup Championships four times and have won three. They brought home the Stanley Cup, back to back, in 1991 and 1992. Then they returned to it in 2008 and lost to the Detroit Red Wings, but in 2009, they were able to bring it home once again.

The Pittsburgh Penguins do not need any help navigating their way through the NHL. With several trips to the playoffs and three Stanley Cup Championships, they will always have something for their fans to cheer about.
