Rihanna Fenty, currently 23 years old, was born in the town of Saint Michael in the Caribbean nation of Barbados on Feb. 20th, 1988. She's well known around the world as Rihanna, who is one of the best-selling R&B performers on the globe. She moved to America when she was 16 years old to follow her dream of becoming a recording artist. She ended up signing with the Def Jam Recordings label following an impressive audition for Jay-Z, who was head of the label at that time.

The singer's first solo album came out in 2005 and was titled "Music of the Sun". It sold well and made it to the top 10 of Billboard's 200 chart, with one of the songs, "Pon de Replay" making it to the Hot 100 singles chart. Her second record was released in 2006 and was named "A Girl Like Me", which rose to the top five in the charts.

The album also contained her first number-one song, which was named "SOS." Her next release, in 2007, was entitled "Good Girl Gone Bad" and it featured four top-of-the-chart singles. These were entitled "Take a Bow", "Umbrella", "Disturbia", and "Don't Stop the Music". The album also received nine Grammy Award nominations and the song "Umbrella", which she recorded with Jay-Z, won the award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

"Rated R" was her next record, which came out in 2009 and featured the top-10 songs "Hard", "Rude Boy", and "Russian Roulette". It also went to number one on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. She followed that up with a CD called "Loud" in 2010 which featured three number-one songs; S&M, Only Girl (In the World), and What's My Name?

Overall, she has managed to sell over 20 million CDs and 55 million singles around the world, making Rihanna one of the top-selling performers in history. She's the youngest singer to have 10 number-ones on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. She has also won many other international awards, including four Grammys and four American Music Awards along with 18 Billboard Awards.
