Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart TicketsRod Stewart is a very busy man. He is in the midst of a two-year residence at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He is busy collaborating with fellow Vegas-bound artists like Cee Lo Green to record a holiday song, “Merry Christmas, Baby”. Oh, and he is prepping to release a new original album this next year. Rod Stewart tickets are likely going to follow for an associated world tour in addition to the already scheduled Vegas show dates.

The new album is tentatively entitled Love the Life You Live. This is his first truly new album in more than a decade. After the underwhelming success of Human, the singer began recording albums of pop ballad covers. Overall, he released five of these American Songbook collections. Also, Rod Stewart released a cover of classic rock songs and a cover of soul classics. Rather than end his career as a cover artist, Stewart has apparently decided it is time to rejuvenate his creative spirit.

Fans are going to hold this album up to the standards set by singles “Maggie May” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and the multi-platinum success of signature albums Foot Loose and Fancy Feet and Out of Order. These recordings made many forget he once sang the blues for the Jeff Beck Group and rock for Faces. After these hits, he was a rock star who had gone pop and would never look back. So, when his popularity as a recording artist of new material had run its course, he turned to covers, much like Tony Bennett, and connected with his passionate audience once again.

Rod Stewart concert tickets for this next year and a half of appearances will feature the man with the smoky smooth voice singing both his hits and his new take on rock. More than likely, the new album will veer closer to pop, as he emerged from the era now known as classic rock. This was an era with a sense for big ballads and as deep an appreciation for soft rock as the blues. Thus, this is Stewart’s era and fans should expect an album driven by nostalgia this time around.
