Seether the hard rocking outfit from Pretoria, South Africa has now released eight albums in all, two of which have gone platinum and two more that are certified Gold, a live concert DVD and worldwide sales that exceed 4.5 million. The rockers have amassed eleven number one singles and seventeen Top 5 multi-format hits and Seether averages about 120 live shows a year. They crisscross the globe and are featured on many of the world’s biggest rock festivals. Their most recent album to be released is titled Isolate and Medicate and Shaun Morgan lead singer for the band said that he basically used his diary to write these songs and he is sure that as always the album will resonate deeply with the groups fiercely loyal fans. Seether was heavily influenced by grunge groups such as Nirvana and Alice and Chains. Allmusic’s Stephen Thomas Erewine wrote “Seether’s lead singer/songwriter, Shaun Morgan, is an unabashed unapologetic worshiper of Kurt Cobain, using Nirvana’s sound as a template for Seether,” Since 2008 the band has been nominated for 10 different Awards and have won 7 of them including, MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Alternative Artist in 2008, Billboard Charts for Active Rock Song of 2011, Country Song, And the Mediabase, No. 1 Song of The Year (in terms of airplay) Country Song also in 2011.
