While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a pretty awful team in 2014, they enter the 2015 season with an enormous amount of hype and excitement. Tampa Bay chose to use the number one overall selection in the 2015 NFL draft on Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, who they believe will be their franchise quarterback of the future. With the addition of Winston under center, this immediately upgrades their offense with the already established solid duo of wideouts Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson. Besides their new quarterback, the Bucs used six of their seven draft picks on offensive players with three possibly more slated to be in the starting lineup. Running back Doug Martin is fully healthy and ready to live up to his full potential in the backfield. Tampa Bay’s defense struggled last season in the first year of their head coach Lovie Smith’s defensive scheme. This prompted an overhaul which should continue throughout this season. Smith brought in safety Chris C
onte and defensive tackle Henry Melton who both previously played for the former Bears coach in Chicago. Smith’s former teams have been known to win games on special teams and this season look for this unit to step up and contribute highly to the success of the Bucs.
The NFC South is a division with some cloudiness so look for the 2015 Buccaneers to be competitive. This is a young but very talented team and if they can gel and get things going, should be able to win games and keep things interesting. Be sure to secure your Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets this season in order to see these guys improve and work their way towards the top of their division and into their positive future.
