The Avett brothers is a band made up of Scott and Seth Avett, and Bob Crawford. They do tours and gigs, and in these tours, they have other members who join them such as Joe Kwon and Jacob Edwards. The band plays a fusion of genres, such as country, pop melodies, bluegrass, folk, rock and roll, ragtime and honkytonk. They have been compared to several popular bands like Townes Van Zandt, Buddy Holly, Beatles and The Ramones.
Seth Avett is the youngest among his siblings, he is the third, next to his brother Scott. In their current band, he usually takes on the role of a vocalist, guitarist, and percussionist. He used to be a part of a band made by his high school friends, they called the band Margo. He played the lead guitarist and vocalist in his previous band.
As for Scott Avett, he is the middle child of three and is older than his brother and band mate Seth. Scott and Seth would usually play the same instruments, but Scott, being older, knows how to play more instruments than his brother, such as the banjo and the harmonica. Scott had a band before his current one and it was called Nemo. Being musically inclined brothers, they then decided to merge Scott and Seth's band into one, and called it Nemo. When they decided to merge the bands, they acquired another crucial band member named Bob Crawford.
The band has multiple albums and most of them are quite successful. Here are a few of their albums: "Country Was" (2002), "A Carolina Jubilee" (2003), "Mignotte" (2004), "Emotionalism" (2007), and "I and Love and You" (2009). Some of their songs were also played and used in shows such as "Friday Night Lights", "Parenthood The Series" and "American Idol".
As of now, the band is working on their latest album, "The Once and Future Carpenter". The Avett Brothers have currently recorded twenty four songs. Their album is going to be released soon, so you better watch out for it!
