Toronto Maple Leafs are back in 2013 and the fans are happy to have hockey back at the Air Canada Center. The NBA does not have quite the hold on the population up there as the NHL. Toronto Maple Leafs tickets are still the must-have sports tickets and those same fans who are ecstatic to see the highest level of professional hockey back will be expecting at least a glimmer of potential.

The club has not been in the Stanley Cup playoffs since the lockout. General Manager Dave Nonis is new, but he is not new to the role. He replaced Brian Burke then too. It appears he may even be bringing goalie Roberto Luongo, which he did then as the GM in Vancouver and the team has been a perennial first place finisher in its division. The fans hope he turn the Maple Leafs around just as quickly.

The hockey team may just have turned a supposed weakness into its strength. The Maple Leafs talked about needing a frontline center in this brief offseason but suddenly center Nazem Kadri appears to be the man. Kadri is a not the biggest player at his position. In fact, he is an undersized lefty center who still manages to produce points and he is doing it in droves.

If Kadri cools down, the offense will rely on the standbys to perform exceptionally. Center Mikhail Grabovski, Clarke MacArthur, Nikolai Kulemin, Phil Kessel, and Joffrey Lupul will need to morph the front two lines into one of the best in the Northeast Division. This is a tall order, but given the lack of a strong blue line and the search for a great goalie, this seems the best bet. The fans will arrive with Maple Leaf hockey tickets either way, but they will much less prone to booing and throwing punches if they are watching a contender.
