Formed in 1917, the Toronto Maple Leafs are apart of the original six teams in the NHL. They are the second placed team to have the most Stanley Cup wins in the NHL, but also have the longest Stanley Cup drought. Talk about your ups and downs. They are in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference, where they play at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

The leader of the Maple Leafs is Ron Wilson, who was invited to coach them in 2008. He has gained enormous experience as head coach from coaching the Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, and the San Jose Sharks. On January 11, 2011, Wilson was able to become the seventh coach, in NHL history, to get his 600th win.

The 2010-11 season yielded 37 wins and 34 loses for the Maple Leafs. This put them at third in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference, just missing a shot at the playoffs.

The home of the Maple Leafs is the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Opened in 1999, it has revolutionized many features that are in new arenas today. In 2006, it was the 11th busiest arena in the world and has the capacity to hold 18,819 people. It is a multi purpose arena that is able to cater to basketball, hockey, lacrosse, concerts, wrestling, and even theatre. Future renovations will bring two more restaurants, a hotel, retail shopping, condominiums, a supermarket, broadcast studio, and a public square to the arena.

The Stanley Cup has been in and out of the Maple Leafs' hands since 1918. They have been able to get to the finals 21 times and win it 13 times. Unfortunately, they have not won or even appeared in the Stanley Cup finals since 1967.

Since the Maple Leafs' beginning, they have been a great team, reaching the Stanley Cup multiple times. Now, they have to find out what they are doing wrong, so they can get back to the great team they once were and bring back another Stanley Cup championship.
