It makes perfect sense to name a New Orleans professional sports team the Jazz. Unfortunately, the New Orleans Jazz, formed in 1974, were one of the worst teams in the NBA. In 1979, the Jazz moved to Utah and started to turn things around. The Jazz are in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference, where they play at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The head coach of the Jazz is Tyrone Corbin, who is no stranger to the team. Corbin was hired to be an assistant coach for the Jazz in 2004 and stayed at this position for seven years. It wasn't until February 2011 when he would be given the position of the Jazz's head coach.

In the 2010-11 season, the Jazz were able to acquire 39 wins and 43 loses, an average record. This led them to fourth in the Northwest Division and eleventh in the Western Conference with no spot in the playoffs.

The home stage of the Jazz is the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was originally opened in 1991 with a seating capacity of 19,911 people and only took a year to construct.

From a terrible start as the New Orleans Jazz, the Jazz were able to pull themselves together in Utah and advance to the NBA championship twice. Their first appearance was in 1997 against the Chicago Bulls, but they were unable to get past them and lost in Game Six. The following year, in 1998, they were in the championship again, but the scenario and outcome were exactly the same and they lost in Game Six against the Chicago Bulls.

The Jazz were a great team that had the will to go up against the Chicago Bulls in their prime and they were knocked out and seem to be having trouble getting back up. They have to pull together, get back on the court, and play for the opportunity to bring home the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy for the first time.
