A long history surrounds the Washington Wizards. They originally started out in Chicago in 1961 as the Packers and the Zephyrs, but moved to Baltimore to be the Baltimore Bullets. Another move brought them to Washington D.C as the Capital Bullets, Washington Bullets, and currently, the Washington Wizards since 1997. They Wizards are in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference, where they play at the Verizon Center in Washinton, D.C.

The spell master of the Wizards is Flip Saunders, who became the team's head coach in 2009. With 20 years of coaching experience in the NBA, the seventh best winning percentage among current coaches, and the seventh best of all time coaches, he has earned his reputation of being one of the best coaches in basketball.

Unfortunately, a team cannot rely on a great head coach to pull them to victory. The Wizards were only able to gain 23 wins and a bitter 59 loses to park them at fifth and last place in the Southeast Division and thirteenth place in the Eastern Conference.

The home of the Capitals is the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.'s Chinatown. The arena was built in 1997 with a seating capacity of 19,740 people and has said to revitalize the area around it. Renovations, throughout the years, have increased the quality of the stadium, but have reduced the seating capacity to 18,398 people.

When the Wizards were the Bullets in Baltimore and Washington, they were able to appear in the NBA championships four times and were able to win one in 1978. Their first appearance was in 1971, followed by appearances in 1975, 1978, and 1979.

The Wizards have the best coach in basketball, but they will need their players to step up and take it to the next level. Washington has been waiting for a stellar basketball team, it's time that they get it.
