The Winnipeg Jets are still settling in after the move north of the border, but the fans are so excited to have an NHL franchise in their fair city. It remains the most important fact that Winnipeg Jets tickets to the MTS Centre are available to the public at large. For those who forgot, the Jets are the Atlanta Thrashers just in a different uniform.

It is going to take a while for the Jets to become the Jets, just as it will take a while for this young roster to come into its own. Winnipeg previously had been another Jets club, but they became the Coyotes. Luckily, the Thrashers only had little more than a decade to play. This means the team still does not have any roots, which is perfect.

The fans will be getting to know new veterans Olli Jokinen and Alexei Ponikarovsky as the hockey team leaders and youngsters Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler as the potential stars in a year in the not too distant future. Jokinen was a captain and will likely be made captain this season. He is playing in the first line with Wheeler and Andrew Ladd. Ponikarovsky has been a bit of a journeyman of late but his arrival in Winnipeg is a reunion with a wing with whom he thrived not too long ago, Nik Antropov. Those two will be helping with a young guy at center.

Wheeler is a big guy (6-foot-5) is pretty fast too and he is entering his mid-20s. Essentially, he is no longer a rookie and he has the physical capabilities to dominate. He is going to have the best season of his short career as Jet in 2013. The young center joining Jokinen and Ponikarovsky is likely going to be Scheifele. Not too much is expected of Scheifele, but the hopes are an early experience with the veterans will lead into a dalliance with the second line. These are the names fans are going to know by the end of this short season schedule.
