Former lead man of the band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers and currently a solo artist, Ziggy Marley is a Jamaican musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist, voice actor, philanthropist and producer. He is also the oldest son of legendary musician Bob Marley. Ziggy has been performing since he and fellow classmates formed The Seven Do Bees. He and his band have come quite far since their debut late in ’79, performing on the same bill the one and only time with his father at the ‘Roots Rock Reggae’ two-day concert, Ziggy was only 11 at this time. Releasing their second single two years later entitled, “What A Plot.” After his father’s passing, Ziggy started performing with the Wailers at various shows around Jamaica. Ziggy released his debut solo album, Dragonfly in 2003 it featured the single “True To Myself.” Ziggy has a total of five solo albums his most recent being Fly Rasta, which won him a Grammy for Best Reggae Album at the 57th Grammy Awards and that Grammy was his sixth in total. Songs like “I Don’t Wanna Live on Mars” and “Sunshine,” show the emotion that Ziggy was trying to portray in his new album. Ziggy also has three live albums titled, Love Is My Religion in 2008, Ziggy Live From Soho in 2009 and Ziggy Marley in Concert in 2013. Ziggy has made multiple notable appearances on Television and multiple musical collaborations with fellow superstars for charity, political and personal causes, his music is fueled by his passion and love of life.
