Seattle Mariners Tickets

Attention baseball fans, here's a quick preview of the 2014 Seattle Mariners! The Seattle Mariners kick off their 2014 season on March first versus the Angels. After a dissapointing 2013 campaign, things are definitely looking up for the Mariners in 2014.

The Mariners signed second baseman Robinson Cano, arguably the top free agent available coming into 2014. The Mariners signed Cano to a massive contract, 10 years at 240 million dollars. Robinson Cano should be just the right guy to come in and provide a much needed spark to improve the teams performance. Cano is definitely a proficient batter, so look for better offensive production with the addition of Cano. Another exciting player to keep an eye on this year is Kyle Seager.

In 2013 Seager batted an impressive .260 with 22 home runs. Long time Seattle Mariner pitcher Felix Hernandez could be line to have a good year. Over the previous two seasons he has a combined record of 25-19. Hopefully for the Mariners Seager will continue to produce these kinds of numbers. 21 year old Taijuan Walker is Safeco Field Ticketsanother player to watch this year. He is young, but has already proved to be formidable on the pitcheing mound. Last year Walker started three games and finished the year with a combined ERA of 3.60.

A very important additon to the team this year is Lloyd McClendon who will serve as the teams new manager. McClendon has been vocal about improving the team culture and moral in order to facilitate a winning atmosphere. McClendon previously served as hitting coach for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers.

Last year the Mariners finished fourth in the American League West with a record of 71-91. Look for the Mariners to improve this year, although it may be challenging for the Mariners to win the American League West. The Mariners would have to out-play the Oakland Athletics and the Texas Rangers, the top two teams of 2013 in the AL West.

While there is still much to be seen, the Mariners are on the right track and should find more success this year than they found in 2013.

Seattle Mariners Tickets

The Seattle Mariners have been playing professional baseball since 1977. This makes the franchise one of the youngest in the MLB, which is why fans are not too upset that the club has yet to win or play in a World Series.  The M’s time will come and the very deserving sports fans of Seattle will make the most of the opportunity to cheer their team on in the biggest series of the season.

The early rosters managed to obtain Hall of Fame players at the end of their careers or simply did not have enough great players to put together a winning season or survive the difficult road in the playoffs. Eventually the baseball team would put together the kind of talent that made them preseason picks to win the American League West and take the AL Pennant, but somehow the efforts of Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Randy Johnson, Edgar Martinez, and Jay Buhner were not enough to make those predictions come true.

These guys did win the division twice in the second half of the 1990s though. But, the Mariners always seemed to lack the depth in the starting rotation to make a real run at a championship. Still the fans were treated to some of most talented players in the league.

Those players retired or left in free agency by the beginning of the 21st century, but the remnants rallied around the super-single hitting Ichiro Suzuki to post an American League record 116 wins and advance to the ALCS in 2001. Alas, the unlikely club could not keep the fairy tale story going and lost to the Yankees. This is as close to the Promised Land as the Mariners have come, even though in the immediate years after they managed to win 93 games. Since then the team has been searching for the next generation of stars.
